Round Two Results of the 53rd Southern Junior Championship

53rd Southern Junior Championship Round Two Leader: Sage Bradshaw of Bluffton, South Carolina
ST. HELENA ISLAND, SC (June 12, 2025) – Round Two results of the 53rd Southern Junior Championship of the Southern Golf Association hosted by Dataw Island Club (Cotton Dike) in St. Helena Island, on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Sage Bradshaw of Bluffton, South Carolina sits at the top of the leaderboard with a score of five-under 67 and an overall score of eight-under 136. Bradshaw made a total of seven birdies today to grab the lead heading into the final round tomorrow.  

When asked about his plan for tomorrow, Bradshaw expressed that “this is definitely the biggest tournament I’ve ever been leading; I was able to play well last week, so I feel like I might have a chance to bring it home tomorrow.”

Bradshaw shared that the highlight (and funniest moment) of the day was when he broke his pitching wedge off a tree when trying to get out of the woods. 

When asked about playing so close to home, Bradshaw said “it is really exciting being able to see a bunch of people I know and it’s certainly nice being able to feel like I’m playing in my backyard.” 

Rory Asselta of Ramsey, New Jersey sits in solo second after Round Two, carding two-under par 70, and an overall score of seven-under 137. 

Three players currently sit at T3, all posting six-under par 138 overall for the tournament:
  • Andrew Sciortino of Brentwood, Tennessee 
  • Braeden Nelson of West Des Moines, Iowa 
  • Drew Yeagley of Waxhaw, North Carolina 
The field was cut to the low 50 and ties. The cutline fell at one-over 145 with 52  players advancing to the final round of the 53rd Southern Junior Championship.
