After a one-hour delay for severe weather in the area, Round Two of the 120th Southern Amateur Championship was suspended for the day at 6:12 p.m., leaving 78 players to complete Round 2 in the morning. This suspension followed a 23-minute stoppage due to a downed tree earlier in the afternoon.
Carson Bertagnole of Pinehurst, N.C. remains atop the leaderboard at T1 after carding a round two score of two-over 72 for a 36-hole total of 133. William Love of Atlanta, Ga. co-leads with six holes left to play in his second round.
Two players currently stand T3, carding six-under 134 overall:
- Zackary Swanwick of Gainsville, Fla.
- Carlos Astiazaran of Mexico
Round 2 Resumption of Play Schedule :
- 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM: Practice Facilities Open
- 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Hosted Player Breakfast
- 8:45 AM: Players scheduled to resume Round 2 are required to report to the practice putting green to begin proceeding back into position.

9:00 AM: Resumption of Round 2
- Upon completion of Round 2, the field will be cut to the low 50 players and ties.
- 2:00 PM (Tentative): Round 3 will begin with starting times from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
