Sihan Sandhu of Ashburn, Virginia delivered an impressive opening round, carding eight-under par 64 to claim the first round lead of the 119th Southern Amateur Championship. His round, highlighted by nine birdies, positions him at the top of the leaderboard with a four-stroke lead over his competition.
Sandhu expressed that while he survived the long walk that is Blessings, he “played well and had a fun time out there.”
When asked about his approach to hang onto the lead he expressed that “the effort is going to be there and we will see what the outcome is.”
The following players each stand tied for second, carding four-under par 68.

- Zachery Pollo of Rocklin, California
