WEST POINT, MS (July 16, 2021) - Third round results of the 115th Southern Amateur Championship of the Southern Golf Association hosted by Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, MS, on Friday, July 16, 2021 (7088 yards, par 35-36-71, 74.7/144). The 115th Southern Amateur Championship is presented by STITCH® Golf.

Seventy players beat the cut line of one-under 139 to return to the field for round three of the 115th Southern Amateur Championship.
 
Maxwell Moldovan of Uniontown, OH leads heading into the final round of the Championship tomorrow. The round one co-leader fired six-under 65 for the day and stands 16-under 197 for the tournament.

“I just played solid the whole day and hit a lot of greens,” Moldovan said. “Whenever I missed the green, I was able to chip it close and get it up and down. I’m going to have faith that whatever is supposed to happen will happen. I’m excited for whatever tomorrow could bring.”
 
Round two leader, Connor Howe of Ogden, UT stands second after round three, posting two-under 69 for the day and 14-under 199 for the tournament.
 
“Tomorrow is gonna be a dog fight,” Howe said. “There were a lot of guys within a few shots of the lead, so I’m going to try and make as many birdies as I can. We’ll see what happens.”
 
Brayden Garrison of Nolensville, TN stands third, posting six-under 65 today. Heading into the final round, he remains 13-under 200 for the tournament.
 
“I’m feeling really good,” Garrison said. “I’m just going to go out and try to make as many birdies as I can and if that’s good enough, that’s good enough. I’m definitely coming to win.”
 
The following four players remain T4 at 12-under 201 for the tournament:

Round four begins on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10 tees at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, MS, where the 115th Southern Amateur Champion will be crowned.
 
Eligibility
Entries are open to any male amateur golfer who has a current USGA Handicap Index® not exceeding 3.4 under the World Handicap System as of the close of entries.
