WHEREAS, the Southern Golf Association, since its founding in 1902, has conducted its affairs in such manner as to promote the game of golf; and
WHEREAS, the Southern Golf Association has sponsored championships which have produced players of regional, national, and international fame who have been a credit to the game of golf; and
WHEREAS, the Southern Golf Association has trained and provided administrators for the game of golf who have enhanced the game at all levels, both regional, national, and international; and
WHEREAS, the Southern Golf Association has supported turf research, sponsored scholarships and by other means has made more meaningful and worthwhile the game of golf for all golfers; and
WHEREAS, the Southern Golf Association recognizes the international language of sports and particularly the game of golf; and
WHEREAS, the Southern Golf Association desires to increase its support of golf on the international level and to promote, through the game of golf, better international relations and a better understanding among people around the world;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Southern Golf Association does hereby endorse the development of a people-to-people relationship at the international level through the promotion of the game of golf and international, amateur competition to the end that international goodwill and understanding might be strengthened; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the officers of the Southern Golf Association are hereby authorized and directed to implement those programs deemed reasonable to achieve the objectives of this Association.
