BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 20, 2018) – Justin Suh, a 20-year-old junior at the University of Southern California, has been named Amateur of the Month for February by the Southern Golf Association (SGA).
Suh, a native of San Jose, CA, is in the middle of a stellar collegiate season. Currently the number one ranked collegiate player by Golfweek, Suh won the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii with rounds of 69-66-68 to record his third individual title of the 2017-18 season. He also placed in a tie for fourth at The Prestige at PGA West with two-
under 140 total that was shortened to 36 holes due to high winds.
Not counted in his February voting resume but certainly notable is Suh’s victory last week at the Southern Highlands Collegiate for his fourth collegiate win.
Suh is currently the No. 19 ranked amateur in the World according to Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking and No. 6 by the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Winners of the SGA’s monthly award are determined by an international panel of golf officials, coaches and journalists. Now in its 14th season, notable recipients have been Bill Haas, Michelle Wie, Hunter Mahan, Ryan Moore, J. B. Holmes, Webb Simpson, Rhys Davies, Kyle Stanley, Kevin Fortin-Simard, Rickie Fowler, Danny Lee, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Alice Hewson, and more recently Cameron Champ & Doc Redman.
