The 112th Southern Amateur Championship began today at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky.

Hunter Richardson of Clarksville, Tenn. and Nathan Jeansonne of Keithville La. posted seven-under par 65’s to tie for the lead after round one. Richardson highlighted his round with an eagle at the 11th hole and six birdies. After a level par outward nine, Jeansonne made six birdies in a row from holes 11 thru 16 to get into contention and finished with a birdie on 18 for an incredible back nine of 29.
